A day for fireworks and celebrations of freedom
You gave me freedom from loneliness
From dependence on family and friends for love
Yours is all I need
The fireworks we make together would light up the sky
Till the second coming
When I left home
I was afraid of everything
Life
Even freedom
You taught me that freedom is in the mind
And body
Of the beholder
You let me be free
Be me
Be everything I could
or wanted to
be
You gave me life
liberty
And definitely the pursuit of happiness
Independence day
You gave me my independence
Showed me how to enjoy it
Then took it away
Now I know that for all that independence
is a wonderful thing
It can never compare to this wonderful dependence
My dependence on you
For this breath of life
Called love
